REACHing UP Grant

Granted to NYC School Library System Applicants in January 2010

The REACHing Up Grant was granted for 49 project-based learning initiatives in 47 schools. The terms of the grant required an active library program, a full-time library pedagogical staff member and a collaborative relationship between this person and another teacher in the building. Each project has been awarded $2500 to spend on materials (print or technology) to support the project. The terms of the grant are that the material or technology must remain as part of the library collection/equipment after the project is completed.

In conjunction with the grant, the grantee schools sent their librarian and one collaborative teacher to an all-day professional development workshop on project-based learning.
